Behind everything we do is a team of volunteers who believe in the power of movement to connect and uplift a community. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and committees, UMAC is driven by individuals who are deeply passionate about expanding access to movement in Roseburg, Oregon. Each member generously donates their time, expertise, and energy to build a vibrant, inclusive arts community rooted right here in the Umpqua Valley. Together, we are committed to creating opportunities for connection, creativity, and growth through movement.
New Board Members
Umpqua Movement Arts Collaboration is seeking passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors for a two-year term beginning this fall. Letters of interest must be submitted by August 31, 2026, ahead of our late-summer elections.
About the Roles & Expectations
Strategic Growth: Shape the future of movement arts in our community.
Monthly Meetings: Attend regular board meetings held most months of the year.
Committee Service: Actively participate in at least one of our core operational committees.
Desired Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who bring experience or a strong interest in:Nonprofit Operations: Prior governance or volunteer leadership.Arts Organizations: Familiarity with creative industries or community arts programming.Board Leadership: Experience serving on a governing or advisory board.
Committee Opportunities
All board members drive our mission forward by serving on one of the following committees:
Finance: Overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and fiscal health.
Production: Planning and executing performances and artistic programming.
Marketing: Elevating our community visibility, branding, and outreach.
Events: Coordination of events, community gatherings, and special projects.
Policy & Contracts: Managing governance documents, compliance, and agreements.
Facilities: Ensuring safe, accessible spaces for our classes and events

The Events Committee oversees the planning and coordination of events, performances, and gatherings that bring people together through movement and the arts--ensuring events are organized, and welcoming.

The Facilities Committee oversees the spaces where we move, create, and gather--prioritizing safety, accessibility, and functionality to support high-quality movement and programming.

The Finance Committee safeguards the organization's financial health through responsible budgeting, transparencey, and strategic planning--ensuring resources are stewarded with care and integrity.

Production Committee Lead
The Production Committee brings performances and events to life by coordinating logistics, timelines, and creative execution, supporting artists and instructors every step of the way.
We believe our community is strongest when many voices help shape it. While committee memberships are capped to ensure effective collaboration, we welcome community members who are interested in getting involved and are happy to notify you when a space becomes available as UMAC's needs evolve.
In addition, several committees benefit from project-based volunteers who support specific initiatives or events. If you have skills, experience, or interests you'd like to share--whether marketing, production, facilities, finance, or creative support--we'd love to hear from you.
