The Collector's Ensemble is designed for dancers who are excited to challenge themselves artistically and theatrically. This ensemble is ideal for those seeking a more rigorous rehearsal environment, faster-paced choreography, prop work, partner work, and the opportunity to become recurring characters within the production's storyline.The ensemble serves as the narrative thread connecting the entire production. Think of it as the cast ensemble of a musical production—bringing the story to life between the featured acts. While each class explores a unique curiosity or oddity housed within the Collector’s Victorian cabinet, this ensemble tells the deeper story of The Collector himself–and humanity’s fascination with possessing the things we cannot truly keep. Ensemble dancers will perform in three pieces and will wear one coordinated ensemble costume that carries their character throughout the production.

The "Collector's Ensemble" is the only audition-based class. All dancers are welcome and encouraged to participate during trial week. No matter your dance background and more than technical perfection, we are looking for dancers who bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine excitement for learning. If you enjoy being challenged, are willing to practice outside of rehearsal, learn choreography quickly, explore theatrical performance, and push beyond your comfort zone, we encourage you to audition. There is no enrollment cap for this class.
Auditions will take place during a regular class session. Dancers will learn and perform a short section of choreography, allowing us to evaluate performance quality, theatrical presence, adaptability, and how dancers work within an ensemble. The audition class will be held Tuesday, July 28, during the regularly scheduled class time. Additional information about the audition process will be shared at Trial Week.
This class is part of our Performance Series, beginning the week of July 20th and culminating in a performance on the Exhibition Hall stage at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on October 23rd & 24th.
Classes are held weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 PM and are instructed by April Alleman, Jessica Mathison, and Lindsey Rivenes.
