Answer the call of the sea and step into a dark tale of beauty, temptation, and danger. This theatrical sensual fusion class explores the legend of the sirens who would captivate sailors with irresistible allure before revealing the monster beneath the surface. Focusing on performance confidence, musicality, and storytelling, dancers will bring this haunting narrative to life through fluid movement, dramatic expression, and powerful character work. Set to a mashup of Jolly Sailor Bold by Ashly Serena and Can’t Help Falling in Love by Tommee Proffitt, this piece is perfect for dancers who love dark fantasy, theatrical performance, and telling stories through movement. 
 
Please note: choreography will involve backbends, head whips, and other movements that place additional demands on the neck and spine. Dancers are encouraged to keep these elements in mind when selecting classes.
 
This class is part of our Performance Series, beginning the week of July 20th and culminating in a performance on the Exhibition Hall stage at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on October 23rd & 24th.
 
Classes are held weekly on Mondays from 5:15-6:30 PM and are instructed by Brandi Glasser and Kara Taylor.
