At 8:15PM, David “Monday” Feldman will initiate us with an introduction to ecstatic dance and contact improv as we open up the night with worldly base music from DJs Feather and Sheena Medicina! At 11:30PM, we will end our night with a sound bath journey led by Psy:Lo.
 
 
Event Bios
 
Sheena Medicina, real name Christina Sasser, is known for having a vast diversity of musical tastes, from sacred, to sexy, to silly. She aims to get people sweating and moving, as her sets have an organic element that honors the ancient spiritual ritual of humans dancing together in communion with the Earth and each other…but don’t be surprised to find exhilarating emotional twists and turns, plenty of saucy dripping bass lines and remixed classics that everyone knows and loves, and always with a transformational message of hope and resiliency.
 
The organizer and host of Portland Ecstatic Dance, The Heart of the Jungle Retreat in Costa Rica, The Medicina Campout, & BassWitch, has been a lover of music and a dancer her entire life.  She grew up in a dance studio where she spent hours every day practicing ballet, tap, jazz, and gymnastics growing up. She began exploring conscious movement since first discovering the work of Gabrielle Roth and the 5 Rhythms practice and soon after found Ecstatic Dance around 2010. Starting DJ’ing in 2015, she has been regularly throwing down some of the best dance floor vibrations all over Cascadia, the west coast, and beyond. 

DJ Feather is a fresh, heart-led voice rising in the conscious dance scene. His sound is a soulful weave of deep house, global bass, and slow-burning prayerful rhythms drawn from traditions around the world bringing the leading edge of uplifting ecstatic dance beats.

Feather spins for one reason: to inspire the expression of our true colors! Dedicated to opening and creating a space where we can drop the masks, step out of our heads, and express ourselves freely, openly, and without judgment or limitation.
