Beautiful, alluring, and deadly, Belladonna has fascinated those drawn to the mysterious and the macabre. Known as “Deadly Nightshade” this poisonous plant was once used to enhance beauty and alter perception. In this darkly enchanting belly dance piece, dancers embody the progression of altered perception as reality begins to fracture. What starts as elegance and control, transforms into confusion, temptation, and conflicting personalities. Set to Mission by Beat Antique, dancers can expect mesmerizing isolations, a combination of fluid movement and sharp angles, as you explore the tension between clarity and illusion, self and shadow.
